4 drug, rob suspects slain
MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects and two alleged robbers were killed in reported shootouts with law enforcers in Cavite and Negros Occidental in the past two days.
The drug suspects, one of them identified only as Jersy, drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to police officers who posed as buyers in Barangay Pasong Buaya 2, Imus and Salinas Ville III, Bacoor before dawn yesterday, according to Senior Superintendent William Segun, Cavite police director.
Edgar Recana, a native of General Santos City, and JR Sta. Ana of Moises Padilla town engaged police officers in a gunfight in Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, town police chief, said.
Another suspect, Garnel Solibaga, was wounded.
The three men allegedly robbed Raul de Loyola of P190,000 in cash while delivering hog feed in the area.
Police recovered the guns of the fatalities.
3 slain in shootings
Three other persons were gunned down in Laguna and Bataan on Wednesday.
The bodies of Rina dela Rosa, 43, a health worker in Abucay, and former overseas worker Domingo Baluyot, 44, were found under a mango tree in Barangay Mabatang at about 8:40 a.m.
Village watchman Noel Tesoro was driving his Mitsubishi Lancer (UCJ-807) with his son John Niel to attend a hearing at the barangay hall in Makiling, Calamba, Laguna when he was shot.
Tesoro died at the scene. His son was unhurt.
