MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested in General Trias, Cavite on Wednesday for allegedly selling P150,000 worth of counterfeit medicine.
Vonn Reineere Hernandez, 28, a former employee of a pharmaceutical company, yielded 10 boxes of fake medicine during a raid on his house in Barangay Buenavista III.
Police said Hernandez admitted supplying fake medicine to around 200 stores in Imus.
“He confirmed that almost all areas in Cavite, especially small stores, are flooded with fake medicine,” a police officer said.
Four other persons, whom Hernandez claimed are also selling counterfeit medicine, are the subject of follow-up operations.
