Drug pusher gets life imprisonment

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A court in Batangas has sentenced a drug pusher to life imprisonment.

Jamal Hadjonoor was found guilty of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000, according to a recent ruling of Regional Trial Court Branch 84 Judge Dorcas  Ferriols-Perez.

Hadjinoor was arrested in a drug sting in Barangay Calicanto, Batangas City on March 10, 2016. He was found in possession of 54 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P270,000.

Senior Police Officer 2 Adelardo Gaurano of the Regional Public Safety Battalion and cell phone technician Ram Rebueno, 35, who were arrested in a drug sting in Laguna also in 2016 were recently sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of P500,000 each.

Meanwhile, Anthony Bagason, alias Nognog, and Jayson Lovenia, alias Epoy, were killed in alleged shootouts with anti-drug operatives in Barangay Masuso, Pandi and Bocaue, respectively, in Bulacan on Friday.

Four sachets of marijuana and a 9mm revolver were recovered from Bagason while Lovenia yielded five sachets of shabu and a caliber .38 revolver, police said.

Tricycle driver Erwin Ibus was arrested following a raid on his house in Barangay Centro, Sta. Ana, Cagayan also on Friday. He yielded five sachets of shabu, a bottle of hashish juice and drug paraphernalia, police said. – Raymund Catindig, Ric Sapnu, Ramon Efren Lazaro
