MANILA, Philippines — The Luzon grid was placed on yellow alert yesterday after a forced outage of the Southwest Luzon Power Generation Corp. (SLPGC) coal plant.
The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said it placed the grid on alert from 1 p. m. to 3 p.m. with available supply at 10,740 megawatts while peak demand was estimated at 9,654 MW.
Unit 2 of Malaya power plant (320 MW), San Gabriel power plant (420 MW) and another unit of SLPGC (150) went on unplanned outage while seven others ran on limited capacity.
