AFP, NPA clash in Camarines Sur; landmine seized

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A landmine was among those recovered from New People’ Army rebels following an encounter with government troopers in Camarines Sur on Wednesday.

Capt. Joas Pramis, 9th Infantry Division public affairs officer, said the communist guerrillas withdrew after about 15 minutes of gunfights.

There was no reported casualty on the government side.

Two backpacks, four cell phones, a medical kit and propaganda materials were also recovered from the rebels.
