Boy, 13, used as drug courier

MINALIN, Pampanga – A 13-year-old boy who was allegedly used as a drug courier by his mother has been rescued.

The mother of the boy along with Jayson, 37, and Albert, 32, both surnamed Navarro, were arrested in a sting in Barangay San Isidro in this town on Monday, Chief Inspector Pearl Joy Gollayan said.

More than 40 sachets of shabu, P14,000 in cash and marked money were allegedly recovered from the house of the woman.

Gollayan said the suspect would be charged with child abuse and neglect aside from violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In Bulacan, an alias Patay was killed in a sting in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Monday night.

The suspect drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Sta. Clara at around 11:40 p.m., police said. His companion, identified only as Boyet, fled on a motorcycle. – With Ramon Efren Lazaro, Emmanuel Tupas
