More than 10,000 Lenten travelers fill ports on Black Saturday — PCG

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 10,756 passengers swarmed the country’s ports as of Saturday amid the exodus of travelers this Lenten season, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

“PCG Passsenger Assistance Centers reports disclosed that no unusual or untoward incidents were recorded as of this time,” the PCG said.

Below is a breakdown of the number of outbound passengers as of 12 a.m. to 6 a.m:

1. Central Visayas – 4,050

  • Cebu - 4,050

2. Southern Tagalog- 1,398

  • Batangas - 613
  • Oriental Mindoro - 667
  • Occidental Mindoro - 118

3. Western Visayas- 832

  • Iloilo - 522
  • Caticlan - 310

4. South Eastern Mindanao - 403

  • Davao - 403

5. Bicol - 790

  • Albay - 572
  • Sorsogon - 218

6. Northern Mindanao - 2,967

  • Surigao- 508
  • Cagayan de Oro- 1,013
  • Ozamiz- 1,121
  • Dapitan- 325

7. Eastern Visayas- 120

  • Northern Samar- 120
