Cloudy skies, scattered rains on Black Saturday
MANILA, Philippines — The country will likely experience overcast skies with scattered rains this Black Saturday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4:00 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the trough of Typhoon Caloy (international name: Jelawat) and northeasterly surface wind flow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the following areas:
- Eastern Visayas
- Surigao del Norte
- Dinagat Islands Province
- Cagayan Valley
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Provinces of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes
These areas must prepare for possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate rains to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.
Caloy has been spotted 1,930 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, or outside the Philippine area of responsibility as of 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country should expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. — Ian Nicolas Cigaral
