MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Caloy (international name: Jelawat), which did not make any landfall, left the Philippine area of responsibility Tuesday night.
In a public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said that "Caloy" was located 1,070 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA earlier said that "Caloy" would not approach the land because of the storm’s recurving track.
"Caloy"—dubbed as the Holy Week storm—is the third to hit the country this year.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
