MANILA, Philippines — Another employee of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) died yesterday from injuries from the fire that razed the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel in Ermita, Manila on Sunday.

Jennilyn Figueroa, 28, an internal security staff and nurse reliever at the hotel’s casino, died at the Manila Doctors Hospital.

Figueroa was the sixth fatality in the fire, according to Carmelita Valdez, PAGCOR assistant vice president for corporate communications.

The other fatalities were treasury officer Edilberto Evangelista, assistant treasury officer Marilyn Omadto, security guard Billy Rey de Castro, and surveillance camera operators John Mark Sabido and Jocris Banang.

“PAGCOR will extend financial assistance to the families of the victims,” Valdez said.

On Tuesday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to probe the incident.
