CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The chief of the Laguna provincial police has been replaced due to health problems.
Senior Superintendent Cecilio Ison reportedly suffered a stroke last week and is not fit to perform his duties, according to Chief Superintendent MaO Aplasca, director of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) police.
Aplasca advised Ison to take a leave of absence in order to fully recover.
Ison was replaced by Senior Superintendent Dindo Reyes, chief of the human resources and management division of the regional police.
Reyes assumed the post yesterday afternoon following a turnover ceremony at the headquarters.
He vowed to continue Ison’s campaign against illegal drugs and gambling.
Ison told The STAR that he was advised to focus on his health.
