Nurse dies in road mishap

MANILA, Philippines — A retired nurse died after being hit by a car in Pasig City on Saturday.

Feliciana Haresco Eraldo, 76, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Rizal Medical Center where she was rushed by Carmelino Sebovia Jr., 57, driver of the vehicle that hit her.

Police said Eraldo was crossing M. Concepcion street in Barangay San Joaquin when a Toyota Avanza (YS-5138) driven by Sebovia struck her at around 9 a.m.

Sebovia is being held by police on charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
