1 slain, 1 hurt in shootings

MANILA, Philippines — A farmer was killed while another was seriously wounded in gun attacks by motorcycle-riding men in Pangasinan and Nueva Ecija on Monday. 

Scavenger Angel Patungan and his three companions were waiting for a garbage truck at a dump in Barangay Taloyan, Malasiqui when he was shot several times.

Patungan was pronounced dead on arrival at Malasiqui Municipal Hospital.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered seven bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol at the scene. 

In Nueva Ecija, Ramon Robles, 56, a Canadian citizen, was drinking coffee in front of his house in Barangay Culiat, Talugtug when  he was shot.
