MANILA, Philippines — Three persons were killed in gun attacks in Cavite and Masbate on Wednesday.
The bodies of two unidentified men believed to be victims of summary execution were found in a vacant lot in Barangay Burol 3, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Police said the victims could have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area to mislead investigators. Residents said they did not hear gunshots before the bodies were discovered.
In Masbate, habal-habal driver Cepriano Galecia had just dropped off a passenger in Barangay Maglambong, Monreal and was on his way back to the town proper when he was shot. He died at the scene.
Meanwhile, an inmate was found dead in his detention cell at the Lipa police station.
Efren de Chavez was found lying near the comfort room. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Lipa District Hospital.
Records showed De Chavez was detained on Oct. 25 after two women accused him of acts of lasciviousness.
The victim’s body will be subjected to an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
