2 killed in Isabela attack

TUGUEGARAO , Philippines  —   Two persons were killed while two others were wounded in an attack in Cauayan City, Isabela shortly after midnight yesterday.

Wilson Magday, 37, and his neighbor Sonny Gulla died at the scene after two gunmen barged into Magday’s house in Barangay San Isidro at around 12:15 a.m.

Magday’s 13-year-old daughter and Gulla’s wife Beatriz suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

“The Gullas tried to help the Magdays, but they too were shot,” Cauayan City police chief Superintendent Narciso Paragas said, adding Magday was not on their drug list.

Paragas said the Magdays have been receiving death threats.

Probers are eyeing an old grudge or robbery as motives for the attack.
