List: Class suspensions for August 26

MANILA, Philippines — A number of local government units on Saturday announced suspension of classes due to the bad weather.

State weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Jolina continues to weaken after crossing the rugged terrain of northern Luzon. It is now over the western coast of Ilocos Norte.

"Monsoon rains is expected over the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, while light to moderate with possible occasionally heavy rains due to thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon," PAGASA said.

Below appears the list of areas and schools which have called off classes.

Metro Manila

  • Las Piñas City - all levels 
  • Malabon - all levels
  • Mandaluyong- all levels
  • Manila - all levels
  • Marikina - all levels
  • Parañaque - all levels
  • San Juan - all levels
  • Valenzuela - Elementary to high school; classes also cancelled at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (PLV), including Graduate Studies, and at the Valenzuela City Polytechnic College
