Alert level 2 up in Marikina River
Manila, Philippines — Marikina River is placed under alert level 2 on Tuesday morning amid the continued downpour brought by Tropical Storm Isang.
The Marikina River water alert level was raised to alert level 2 at 8:26 a.m. after the water reached 16 meters above sea level.
Alarm signal was heard as residents were advised to prepare for possible evacuation. On the other hand, motorists were asked to look for alternate routes and avoid the flood.
The water alert level would be raised to level 3 once it reaches 18 meters above sea level. This critical level will prompt for a forced evacuation of residents.

Meanwhile, a passenger van left parked at the Marikina Riverbanks got submerged as water rises to 16 meters.
At 8 a.m., the state weather bureau issued yellow rainfall warning or heavy rains over Metro Manila and warned of possible flood in low-lying areas. — Rosette Adel
