Cop gunned down in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines - A police officer was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City on Tuesday.

Police Officer 3 Romeo Palconit Jr., assigned with the Pasay police traffic bureau, was on a motorcycle on his way to work when the suspects opened fire, Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said. 

The assailants fled after the attack. Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
