CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines  – Police seized at least two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P10 million in Batangas City yesterday morning.

The drugs, contained in two plastic bags weighing a kilo each, was recovered from the backseat of a Toyota Corolla Altis (XTU-479) at around 5:10 a.m., according to Batangas police director Senior Superintendent Randy Peralta.

The car was found abandoned at the parking lot of the Batangas Port.

Peralta ordered probers to verify with the Land Transportation Office-Region 4A and Highway Patrol Group-Batangas the registered owner of the vehicle.

The drugs and the car were brought to the police crime laboratory office.

Peralta expressed belief some drug suspects who fled a drug sting conducted at dawn yesterday in Parañaque City used the car as their get-away vehicle.

Maritime police based in Barangay Sta. Clara received information from the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit in Parañaque that a vehicle with drug suspects on board fled toward Batangas.
