ANGELES CITY, Philippines – For the fifth consecutive year, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan was chosen as one the country’s most outstanding mayors.
Councilor Edgardo Pamintuan Jr. received the award on behalf of the mayor during the awarding ceremony in Makati last Thursday.
The mayor was in Malacañang to take his oath as chairman of the Regional Development Council of Central Luzon.
The international award-giving body Superbrands Marketing International (SMI), said the most outstanding mayor award (MOMA) recognizes the authority and efficacy of mayors, who serve his or her constituents with competence and integrity.
“MOMA is a testament of the mayors’ achievements. The acknowledgement of participating in and having been awarded most outstanding mayor itself, together with its publication, celebrates a mayor’s achievements,” the SMI said.
Twenty mayors received the MOMA this year.
Aside from Pamintuan, two Pampanga mayors – Emmanuel Alejandrino of Arayat and Edwin Santiago of San Fernando – received the award.
Pamintuan first received the outstanding mayor award in 2012.
