2 killed in shootout

GENERAL SANTOS CITY , Philippines  – A policeman and a man who allegedly harassed a customer at a bar by firing his gun were killed in an alleged gunfight in Barangay Calumpang in this town on Thursday.

Witnesses said Police Officer 2 Rey Floriendo of the Fatima police, who heard the gunshots on his way home, accosted a certain Sim Bayot, alias JR. They reportedly engaged in a shootout after a heated argument.

Four bullet shells for a 9mm pistol and five for a caliber .45 were recovered at the scene.
