MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government has donated 50 patrol cars to the local police to boost its campaign against crime.

Mayor Herbert Bautista led the turnover of the Toyota Vios vehicles at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headquarters at Camp Karingal on Tuesday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde and QCPD director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar attended the event.

Dela Rosa warned Quezon City policemen not to use the patrol cars in illegal activities.

The vehicles will be distributed to the QCPD’s 12 police stations, tactical motorized unit and other support units, according to Eleazar.

The city government also donated 20 bullet-proof vests to the QCPD.
