Samar town exec gunned down

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – Unidentified gunmen shot dead the planning and development officer of Jiabong town in Samar before dawn yesterday.

Dan Daradal, an engineer, died from seven gunshot wounds in the body.

Reports said Daradal and his family were asleep when four gunmen barged into his residence at around 1 a.m.

At gunpoint, the assailants ordered the family to lie face down and dragged Daradal out.

The family told police they heard a burst of gunfire coming from the backyard.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
