LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Eight passengers and two crewmen were rescued after a motor boat capsized in the waters off Camarines Sur on Friday morning.
The M/B Camline was sailing toward Matukad Island from Barangay Paniman in Caramoan town when it encountered huge waves and strong winds at around 10:30 a.m., according to Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, spokesperson for the Bicol police.
Local fishermen rescued crewmembers Rey Fuentes and Dante Alvarez, both of Barangay Paniman, and passengers Rodolfo Mino, Shalee Obias, Analyn Silerio, Cherry Gil Soalibio, Jobelyn Laureta, Arcadio Vituallla, Rico Rodavia and Edmar Berja.
Police brought the passengers and crewmembers to a local hospital for treatment.
