MANILA, Philippines - A Special Action Force police officer was arrested yesterday for indiscriminate firing in Quezon City on Sunday morning.
Police Officer 2 Pablo Pamittan, 40, was apprehended near his home at the Talanay Area in Barangay Batasan Hills at around 6 a.m. yesterday.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit later released Pamittan after placing his case under further investigation.
Pamittan is the third person arrested in Quezon City for alleged indiscriminate firing.
Barangay tanod Uldarico de Luna, 60, of Barangay Bagbag was arrested on Dec. 30, after he allegedly fired his gun indiscriminately while drunk and almost hit one minor.
Jaime Pabua, 49, was arrested after he was found with a Colt .45 caliber pistol after a 17-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet during the New Year revelry along IBP Road, also in Batasan Hills.
