MANILA, Philippines – A robbery suspect, tagged as the 10th most wanted person in eastern Metro Manila, was arrested in Marikina City on Friday.
Mark Anthony Salas is allegedly responsible for the spate of robberies in Marikina and nearby areas, Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, director of the Eastern Police District, said.
Sapitula said Salas was apprehended on the strength of an arrest warrant for robbery issued by Judge Alice Gutierrez of the Marikina City Regional Trial Court Branch 193.
Police said Salas’ latest victim was Anna Rachele Blanza, of Cainta, Rizal.
Blanza was in a passenger jeepney traversing Marcos Highway in Barangay Barangka, Marikina when Salas grabbed her iPhone worth P37,000.
Police said Salas was collared along Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay De la Peña.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Lorenzo Holanday said Salas and his cohort, Danric Ponce, were behind the series of robberies in the city.
