'Auring' makes landfall on Siargao Island

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Auring has made landfall over Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte on Sunday afternoon.
At 4 p.m., the center of "Auring" was estimated to be in the vicinity of Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 p.m. severe weather bulletin on Sunday.
The tropical depression is forecast to move northwest at 9 kph.
It is packing maximum winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
"Auring" is expected to bring an estimated moderate to heavy rainfall amount within its 300 km diameter.
PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 1 in Cuyo Island, Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Provinces, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Guimaras, Southern part of Iloilo, Southern part of Antique, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Dinagat Province, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.
