Catanduanes police chief relieved as shabu lab probe continues
The chief of police of Virac, Catanduanes, Police Chief Inspector James Ronatay was reportedly relieved from his post while the Philippine National Police is at the height of its investigation on the discovered mega shabu laboratory in Barangay Palta Small, Virac, Catanduanes.

NAGA CITY, Philippines (Bicol Standard) - The chief of police of Virac, Catanduanes, Police Chief Inspector (PCI) James Ronatay, has been relieved from his post, according to a source.

This was reportedly announced at the meeting of the chiefs of police on Thursday afternoon at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.

Ronatay was relieved while the Philippine National Police is at the height of its investigation on the discovered mega shabu laboratory in Barangay Palta Small, Virac, Catanduanes.

PCI Church de Leon may replace Ronatay.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that Ronatay may remain in his post until after the full-dress investigation of the shabu lab is over.

Ronatay assumed office on Aug. 2, 2016.

Bicol Standard tried to reach Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Melvin Buenafe, but was told that he is still in a meeting.
