New hospital facility opens
BAYOMBONG, Philippines – Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial on Thursday inaugurated a multimillion-peso facility of a public hospital here.
Ubial, Gov. Carlos Padilla and Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma led the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Veterans Regional Hospital (VRH) in Barangay Magsaysay before leaving for Quirino province for the 2016 Health Summit.
Ubial cited VRH chief Cerilio Galindez and the hospital staff for their efforts to continue providing quality and effective health services to the public.
She said the new facility is expected to cater to more patients, including those from the nearby provinces of Quirino, Ifugao as well as from Cagayan Valley and the Cordilleras.
Galindez said from having only nine doctors 33 years ago, the VRH has now 99 doctors.
The four-story facility with a 200-bed capacity has modern equipment and technology.
