MANILA, Philippines — A portion of a mall in Makati City was hit by fire on Sunday evening.
According to fire volunteer TXT fire, the blaze which reached first alarm hit Gold’s Gym in Glorietta 3 at around 7:55 p.m. This caused panic among mall goers after the news broke on social media, making it among the top trending topics in the country. The mall was then locked down for the public's safety.
Firefighters immediately responded to the incident and the fire was declared under control an hour later. It was officially cleared by 9:14 p.m.
The mall's administration said no one was hurt from the fire but the incident is being investigated.
