Alleged drug pusher killed in Las Piñas shootout

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged drug pusher in Las Piñas City was killed in an encounter with anti-drug operatives on Friday night.

A report reaching the Southern Police District (SPD) said Raffy Cajeda was killed after he allegedly traded shots with elements of the Las Piñas City Police anti-illegal drugs unit at about 10:53 p.m. in Barangay Talon Dos.

Police said undercover police officers were conducting a drug sting against Cajeda when he became suspicious.

According to police, Cajeda drew out a caliber .357 magnum revolver and fired four times at the police officers. The officers were then forced to shoot back. Cajeda who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, died on the spot, police said.

Recovered from Cajeda were the .357 magnum and seven small heat-sealed plastic sachets that contain suspected shabu crystals.

Police said Cajeda is included in the list of drug personalities in the city of Las Piñas.
