MANILA, Philippines – A public school teacher in Cagayan de Oro was stabbed by one of her students in their classroom on Tuesday.
The Department of Education (DepEd) yesterday condoled with the family of Vilma Cabactulan of the Pedro N. Roa National High School.
“I am deeply saddened and disturbed that an incident such as this happened in a place of learning,” DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones said.
The DepEd said Cabactulan died while being treated at the Madonna Hospital.
The 15-year-old assailant fled after the incident, but surrendered in the afternoon.
