Magnitude-6 quake rocks Agusan Del Sur
MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude-6 earthquake shook Agusan Del Sur on Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its latest bulletin released 11:23 a.m., Phivolcs said the tremor traced 19 kilometers south east of Talacogan, Agusan Del Sur, occurred at 10:38 a.m. It was found to be tectonic in origin with depth of focus of 6 kilometers.
The tremor was felt at Intensity VI in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; Intensity IV in Butuan City, Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur, and Tagum City; and Intensity III in Gingoog, Misamis Oriental, Bislig City, Davao City, Baglingwan and Balingasag in Misamis Oriental. On the other hand, Kidapawan City and Cagayan de Oro City experienced the quake at Intensities I and II, respectively.
Phivolcs said there are expected damage and aftershocks.
