MANILA, Philippines - The suspected supplier of shabu to Abu Sayyaf bandits was arrested in Talipao, Sulu on Tuesday.
Sidimar Abduhadi was collared after a shootout with military and police operatives in Barangay Tinga, said Maj. Filemon Tan Jr., spokesman for the Western Mindanao Command.
Tan said a police officer was wounded in the encounter.
Seven sachets of shabu, a .38-caliber revolver and drug paraphernalia were reportedly recovered from the suspect.
Tan said shabu and drug paraphernalia were recovered in Abu Sayyaf lairs overran by the military recently.
Most Abu Sayyaf bandits are drug users, according to ground military commanders.
