CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – More police chiefs in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) were replaced yesterday as part of the ongoing reshuffle under the leadership of Director General Ronald de la Rosa.
The chiefs of police of three cities and four towns in Laguna were affected by the revamp, said Chief Superintendent Valfrie Tabian, Calabarzon police acting director.
Superintendents Harold Depositar, Giovanni Martinez and Raynaldo Rosero replaced Superintendents Ericson Dilag of San Pedro City, Reynaldo Maclang of Sta. Rosa City and Francis Reglos of San Pablo City, respectively.
Chief Inspector Owen Banaag was designated chief of police of Los Baños; Senior Inspector JollyMar Seloterio, Alaminos; Senior Inspector Marlon Calonge, Bay, and Senior Inspector Reynaldo Vitto, Victoria.
“Several new mayors and governors wanted to replace the chiefs of police in their localities while some officials were replaced due to their performance,” Tabian told The STAR.
He said the new police chiefs have three months to address the drug problem in their respective areas.
Senior Superintendents Ronnie Montejo and Arcadio Ronquillo, directors of the Laguna and Batangas police, respectively, and five senior police officers in Calabarzon were earlier replaced.
In Bicol, Chief Superintendent Melvin Ramon Buenafe was installed as police director after Chief Superintendent Augusto Marquez was recalled to Camp Crame.
