MANILA, Philippines -The Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) is spending P122.75 million to mitigate flooding along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
In a statement issued yesterday, the MNTC said the improvement of the drainage system on the southbound portion would start this month.
“The welfare of motorists is of paramount importance that is why we want to ensure them safe passage during rainy season,” said MNTC president and chief executive officer Rodrigo Franco.
Franco said a traffic management plan would be put in place around the work area as the project would cover four lanes in the Balintawak area.
He said at least one lane will be closed for 12 consecutive days starting from the leftmost lane until drainage enhancement work in the four lanes is completed.
