3 top drug suspects slain in shooting incidents

MANILA, Philippines - Three top drug suspects have been killed in separate shooting incidents in Zamboanga City, Batangas and Laguna.

Yusup Hasan Ujajun, a former barangay councilor, was driving his motorcyle with his wife on their way to claim their cash benefit under the 4Ps program when he was shot along Barangay Buenavista in Zamboanga City on Thursday, said Chief Inspector Ramon Bautista, Station 2 police chief.

Bautista said Ujajun was the fourth most wanted drug personality in Zamboanga City.

  Chieg Glen Bayaborda, the top drug suspect in Calatagan, Batangas, was killed in an ambush in Barangay Lucsuhin on Tuesday, Inspector Mary Ann Torres, spokesperson for the Batangas police, said yesterday.

Bayaborda was pronounced dead on arrival at the Calatagan Medicare Hospital.

Ewin Bato, who was on the list of top drug suspects in Laguna, was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers during a sting in Barangay Tagapo in Santa Rosa City at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
