MANILA, Philippines - Four persons were killed and four others were arrested in an alleged shootout with anti-drug operatives in Barangay Bigte, Norzagaray, Bulacan on Thursday night.
Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan police director, identified the fatalities as Michael Sumbillo, Reyan Quirante, an alias Allan and a certain Epoy.
Arrian Caballes, 20; Mary Rose Nabo, 19; Rofel Sia, 20, and Josephine Venegas, 41, all residents of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, were arrested.
The suspects fired at police personnel serving a search warrant at Sumbillo’s house, said Superintendent Rizalino Andaya, Norzagaray police officer-in-charge.
Andaya said they received reports that the house was being used as a drug den.
At least 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P40,000 as well as various firearms, ammunition and bullet shells were recovered at the scene.
