ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – An Abu Sayyaf bandit tagged in the kidnapping of plantation workers in 2001 was arrested in a coastal village in this city on Sunday.
Regin Onsing Nazirin, with aliases of Sahirun Asdatul, Imam Aling and Abu Nawas, was collared in Baliwasan Seaside before 4 p.m.
Superintendent Luisito Magnaye, acting Zamboanga City police chief, said Nazirin’s arrest was based on a warrant issued by Basilan presiding Judge Leo Jay Principe for six counts of kidnappings.
