5 dead in Isabela road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Five persons died when two motorcycles collided in Alicia town in Isabela on Sunday.

The drivers of the motorcycles – Richard Toquero, 20, and Fredelino Ramos, 48 – were pronounced dead on arrival at the Manango Hospital. Their companions Roy Allan Landicho, 31; Analyn Abuan, 36, and John Gallevo died while being treated in  the same hospital.

Police Officer 1 Jayson Pascual said the accident occurred along Barangay Burgos.

Meanwhile, a tricycle driver died and his passenger was injured when they were hit by a pickup along the provincial road in Barangay Tammucalao in Bacnotan, La Union yesterday.

Senior Inspector Fredelix Marron, Bacnotan police chief, identified the fatality as Reynaldo Badua, 35, a resident of Barangay Galongen. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.

Rolly Tejada of Barangay Quirino was injured.

The driver of the Toyota pickup is being held at the Bacnotan police station.
