ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Police in Jolo, Sulu have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing two Marines last year, the commander of Joint Task Group Sulu said.
Brig. Gen. Allan Arrojado, citing police reports, said Abraham Jallan was arrested in a raid on his safe house in Sitio Lahi, Barangay San Raymundo on Saturday night. Jallan is facing a double murder case for his alleged involvement in the deaths of the two Marines and was ordered arrested by a Sulu court.
He will be held at the Jolo Municipal Police Station while awaiting trial.
Arrojado said police are also investigating a possible connection between Jallan and the Abu Sayyaf Group, which has been blamed for the murders of some government security personnel in Sulu.
