CAMP FLORENDO, La Union, Philippines – At least 93 persons have been arrested in the Ilocos Region since the election gun ban was enforced on Jan. 10.
Chief Superintendent Ericson Velasquez, Ilocos Region police director, said 85 civilians, five government employees, two police officers and a security guard were arrested for carrying firearms, gun replicas, explosives and bladed weapons.
Sixty-two persons were arrested in Pangasinan, 11 in La Union, eight in Ilocos Sur and 12 in Ilocos Norte.
