New PMA chief assumes post
MANILA, Philippines - The new superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) assumed his post yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Donato San Juan II, Special Operations Command chief of the Army, replaced Maj. Gen. Oscar Lopez, who is reaching the mandatory age of retirement on Feb. 17.
Also retiring in the next few weeks is Maj. Gen. Benito de Leon, the military’s Inspector General.
Maj. Gen. Oscar Lactao, commander of the Cagayan de Oro City-based 4th Infantry Division, will replace De Leon.
Military insiders said Maj. Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr. would assume the post to be vacated by Lactao.
