DOLE gives P55.8 M to poor barangays in Bicol
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has allocated P55.8 million for the implementation of livelihood programs in poor and far-flung communities in the Bicol region.
Nathaniel Lacambra, DOLE director for the region, said the money would be used for the department’s Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BuB) program.
Lacambra said the DOLE regional office would launch orientation seminars for local government officials to ensure the smooth implementation of the programs.
“Compared to last year when only P39.2 million was allocated, DOLE Bicol’s BuB fund this year is 66.6 percent higher…We have to deliver all these funds…to provide poor communities with appropriate livelihood undertakings and help improve their lives,” he said.
