Eaglet rescued in Quezon

Michelle Zoleta - The Philippine Star

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A baby eagle was rescued by a village official from two motorcycle-riding men in this city on Friday.

Village Councilor Jun Buenaflor turned over the bird to Gov. David Suarez yesterday, to make sure it would be cared for properly.

Buenaflor said the motorcycle-riding men had pulled over near his house in Barangay Dupay at around 10 a.m.

He said the men got off their vehicle and appeared to be fixing some boxes.

He approached the men, who sped off on their motorcycle upon seeing him.

One of the men dropped two boxes. Buenaflor said one of the boxes contained a woven bag where the bird was placed.
