NPA rebel slain in Davao clash

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A female fighter of the New People’s Army (NPA) was killed in an encounter with government troops in Davao Occidental yesterday.
The NPA rebel has yet to be identified, said Lt. Col. Ronnie Babac, 73rd Infantry Battalion commander.
Babac said the encounter occurred when the soldiers chanced upon around 20 rebels in Sitio Tinungkaan in Barangay Datu Danwata in Malita town at around 5 a.m. – Edith Regalado, Cecille Suerte Felipe
