NORTH COTABATO, Philippines – Three persons suffered serious injuries in a grenade blast in Pikit town here on Tuesday.

Toks Dawadi, 50; his daughter Bailani Dawadi-Usop, 23, and her one-year-old child were brought to a hospital for treatment.

The victims were in their house in Barangay Inug-ug when an unidentified man lobbed a grenade through an open window. The suspect fled toward a rice field.

Chief Inspector Sindatu Karim of the municipal police said investigators are trying to identify the bomber.

Karim said a grudge could be the motive for the attack.
