Ex-vice mayor nabbed for guns, ammo, drugs

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A former vice mayor of a town in Laguna and his three companions were arrested in a drug sting yesterday morning.

Former Famy vice mayor Amadeo Punio, Cairo Tamos and Anna Rose Dadulla were collared when police raided a farm in Barangay Salang Bato around 8:45 a.m., said Senior Superintendent Ronnie Montejo, Laguna police director.

Montejo said the raid was based on a search warrant issued by Judge Agripino Morga of the San Pablo City Regional Trial Court.

The suspects yielded 100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P500,000, various guns and ammunition, a weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.

Punio faces charges for illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
