Ex-cop nabbed in Tarlac drug raid

Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A former police officer was arrested during a drug raid at his home in Paniqui, Tarlac on Saturday.

Former Police Officer 2 Rodel Domicia did not resist when the raiding team collared him in Barangay Tablang.

Arresting officer Chief Inspector Angelo Nicolas said Domicia had been under surveillance based on information that he is engaged in the illegal drug trade.

Domicia was formerly assigned with the Paniqui police station until he tested positive for drug use in 2013.

He went AWOL (absent without official leave) and reportedly hid in Ilocos Sur until he was dismissed from the service.

The raiding team did not find any illegal drugs at Domicia’s home, but the suspect tested positive for drugs shortly after his arrest.

“He must have been warned of our operation, that’s why he was able to clean his house,” Nicolas said.

He said the police recovered three bullets and drug paraphernalia from Domicia’s house.
