LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A 35-year-old woman died after being hit by a train here on Friday.

Witnesses said Vangie Luna, a resident of San Vicente, Castilla was reading while walking and did not hear the train’s horn because she was wearing headphones.

“Her body was dragged for about five meters,” said Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol PNP spokesperson.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital.

Jose Florece, Philippine National Railways-Bicol manager, said they are investigating if the driver is liable.
